Experience:

With 15+ years of experience, Nicolas performs consultation and evaluation of hazards to ensure occupational health is not compromised and work is being accomplished safely. He interprets and applies regulatory requirements to develop site-specific safety programs/plans to include emergency actions, response, evacuation, and security plans.

Prior to Lawley, Nicolas held roles in various sectors, focusing on safety design, risk management, and employee training. He brings in-depth knowledge of the rules and regulations in both private and public sectors, including OSHA’s rules and regulations and NYS Workplace Violence Prevention Law. Nicolas held positions at the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) and Honeywell and is well-versed in handling Public Employee Safety and Health complaints, inspections, and overseeing the citation process. At Honeywell, he was a chemical inventory specialist and updated corporate safety policies to align with the local plant’s safety procedures.

Education:

Nicolas earned a master degree in safety sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Buffalo State University.
