With 40+ years of experience, Melissa is highly skilled at developing relationships with clients to provide the best possible coverage that meets their needs. She works as a liaison between carriers and clients to ensure all coverage options are explored. Melissa serves as a leader to insurance advisors in Connecticut as well as throughout
Lawley’s footprint.

Melissa joined Lawley when Shoff Darby Insurance Agency merged with Lawley in 2023. At Shoff Darby Insurance Agency, Melissa held the roles of Executive Vice President of Operations and Marketing, Operations Director and Marketing Manager, Managing Director, Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager, and served on the executive leadership team.

Melissa holds a Property and Casualty License and a Life, Accident, and Health License.

Community and Pro Bono:

Melissa is heavily involved in her community as she is a part of Selective Northeast Producer Council, Chubb Connecticut and National Small Business Council, and a part of Acadia Insurance Company Agent’s Board. She sat on the Hartford National Small Business Advisory Board, the CNA Small Business National Agent’s Advisory Council, and the Large Agent’s Committee for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA). Melissa serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the Executive Committee of BIG I Connecticut.
