Lawley hits the lanes to support the education of Junior Achievement of Western New York
One of the core values at Lawley is Community Partnership, and there is no better way to show our community support than by supporting education in the Buffalo region and showing off our strike and spare poses. Thirty six Buffalo, Dunkirk and Amherst Lawley employees hit the lanes to have a great time and help Junior Achievement (JA) provide financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurial programs to local schools at no cost.
In addition to being a fun team building event, 100% of the proceeds raised through the JA Bowl-A-Thon will be used to help JA reach over 13,500 Western New York students during the 2015-16 school year. JA’s K-12 programs are taught by business volunteers, including several Lawley associates, who share their personal and professional experience and inspire young people to create their own plan for success.
“We are proud to see a 248 percent increase in funds raised by our Lawley team. This was an excellent event both for our associates to become aware of all that Junior Achievement of Western New York does for the community, but to help support their educational efforts,” said Beth Bauman, Lawley Controller.
Overall, the Lawley teams raised $4,515 for this worthy effort. To learn more about volunteer opportunities now available with JA, visit their website www.jawny.org.
