Lawley, an independent family-owned insurance broker and employee benefits firm, is proud to announce the creation of a Director of Operations role and the promotion of Reggie Dejean to this role, effective January 1, 2023. Reggie will help support strategic business plan objectives firm-wide and will be primarily situated out of the Buffalo, NY office.

The Director of Operations role will set priorities for the executive team and oversee operational areas of the Property and Casualty insurance divisions of Lawley. This role will support company growth in a variety of ways, such as establishing policies that align with culture, values, and vision, helping improve communication in a hybrid work environment, projecting strong leadership skills to ensure continuous development of the organization, and leading employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.

Dejean has been with Lawley for over 20 years and has been instrumental in creating growth. In his most recent position as manager of the specialty insurance department, Dejean fostered business relationships and consulted with clients on coverages to protect themselves and their business. Through his leadership, the specialty insurance department expanded and provided services to more clients. Dejean’s transparent communication and passion for the insurance industry demonstrate his ability to successfully fulfill the objectives of the role of Director of Operations.

Dejean serves as the co-chair of Lawley’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion steering committee and is actively involved in many community organizations. Dejean is currently a board member for Bivona Child Advocacy Center in Rochester, NY, was a trustee for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Western and Central New York, co-chaired the Rochester Light the Night Walk, and served on the committee for the Champions for a Cure event.

Dejean graduated from The State University of New York at Buffalo with a bachelor of arts degree, is affiliated with the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), and brings fourteen years of expertise from previous roles in the insurance industry.
